Trending!! Hon. Joseph Mukasa Announces 2026 MP Bid for Makindye-Sabagabo

Hon. Joseph Mukasa has officially declared that he will run for Member of Parliament for Makindye-Sabagabo Municipality in the 2026 general elections. He will contest on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, under the slogan: “People First, Service, Equity and Transformation.” His decision has brought new energy and hope to the people of the area.

Joseph Mukasa is a familiar face in Makindye-Sabagabo. For over 20 years, he has been actively involved in community work. He understands the everyday problems people face, such as poor roads, youth unemployment, poor health services, insecurity, and lack of quality education. These challenges are not just statistics to him—he has seen them up close and worked to solve them.

As the Executive Director of HELP Uganda, Mukasa has supported thousands of youth and women by offering practical training in tailoring, baking, hairdressing, and more. These programs have helped many families earn a living and move out of poverty. His work with international partners like USAID, CDC, and the World Bank shows that he is capable of managing large development projects.

In his campaign, Hon. Mukasa has promised to focus on better roads, improved drainage systems, and quality public services. He plans to hold regular town hall meetings to ensure that residents have a say in the decisions that affect them. He is also passionate about empowering women and youth, improving education, and protecting the environment.

Mukasa sees himself as a servant leader—someone who listens to the people, understands their problems, and takes real action.

This is not his first time running for office. He previously contested for the same seat in the 2011–2016 elections. Although he did not win, he never gave up on his community. Through Rotary and his NGO, he continued serving the people, and his efforts can be seen across the constituency.

He said, “Makindye-Sabagabo deserves dignity, fairness, and real change. I am ready to represent your voice in Parliament. Together, we can build a stronger and better community.”
