Milly Babalanda Nominated as NRM Flag Bearer for Budiope West

The Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, has been officially nominated to contest for Member of Parliament for Budiope West in Buyende District in the NRM primary elections for 2026–2031. The nomination was carried out by Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM Electoral Commission Chairman, in the presence of other commission members.

Dr. Tanga Odoi confirmed that Minister Babalanda had met all the requirements to take part in the race. “I hereby nominate Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda to contest for the Budiope West MP seat,” he said during the event.

Speaking after the nomination, Minister Babalanda said the process was fair and open. She called on all NRM members taking part in the party elections to stay peaceful, reminding them that these are internal elections meant to strengthen the party. She praised the NRM Electoral Commission and the party leadership for organizing the process in a clear and democratic way.

The minister thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the NRM National Chairman, and other leaders for creating a system where democracy can be practiced within the party. She promised the people of Budiope West that she is committed to working hard to bring better services and real change to the area. “I am a trusted and reliable leader who is ready to improve Budiope West and serve our people well,” she said.
