Music Muted, Artist Removed: Winnie Wa Mummy’s Night Ends in Enkuuka Drama
Singer Winnie Wa Mummy, born Winnie Nakafeero, endured an unexpected and disappointing moment at CBS FM’s annual end-of-year Enkuuka Bwaguugwa show after her performance was abruptly brought to an end under controversial circumstances.
The incident unfolded toward the climax of the highly anticipated event, which was attended by thousands of fans and dignitaries, including the Kabaka of Buganda, His Majesty Ronald Mwenda Mutebi II.
Winnie Wa Mummy had made her way onto the stage to join singer Mudra for a live performance of their collaborative song, a moment many in the crowd had eagerly awaited.
However, just as the performance began to gain momentum, the sound system suddenly went silent. While Mudra continued to energize the audience and interact with fans, Winnie Wa Mummy was left standing on stage, waiting for the technical issue to be resolved. The interruption immediately caught the attention of both the crowd and observers.

In a surprising turn of events, event organizers soon approached the stage carrying a long black jacket and instructed Winnie Wa Mummy to put it on. She complied with the directive as the audience watched on, confused by the sudden wardrobe change. Shortly after wearing the jacket, she was then asked to leave the stage altogether.
Speculation quickly spread that the decision to cut her performance short was linked to concerns about her outfit, which was reportedly deemed inappropriate given the presence of the Kabaka, who was still in attendance at the venue.
Although no official statement was issued at the time, the sequence of events fueled widespread discussion both at the event and online.
Moments after Winnie Wa Mummy exited the stage, fellow artist King Saha took over the performance slot, effectively ending any chance for fans to watch her complete the song. The abrupt transition left many attendees disappointed, especially those who had been looking forward to seeing her perform live.
This appearance marked Winnie Wa Mummy’s second time performing at the CBS FM Enkuuka event. Unlike her previous outing, which passed without incident, this year’s experience ended in an unexpected and frustrating setback, overshadowing what should have been a celebratory moment in her career.

Since the incident, her supporters have voiced their concerns and expressed hope that in future editions of the Enkuuka Bwaguugwa show, Winnie Wa Mummy will be given a full and uninterrupted opportunity to perform, free from similar controversies.
