Secrets Leak On Afrigo Band Boss Moses Matovu Death!! How Water Logged Musheshe Romanced Him To Death

The dramatic “sumbie war” surrounding the death of Afrigo Band legend Moses Matovu has taken another twist, with police arresting the babe who was with the veteran musician shortly before the fatal confrontation.

The sexy-oozing waterlogged babe, identified as Rose Tumusiime, commonly known as “Ndibaasa” among sumbie vendors, is now in police custody and assisting detectives in piecing together the events that ended with the death of the celebrated legend.

Police say Matovu, 77, went to the babe’s residence at around 5:30am on Thursday in the Kibuli Depot area of Makindye Division, Kampala.

According to preliminary police findings, Matovu and Ndibaasa were leaving the residence when they were allegedly confronted by a man who police say had previously been in a relationship with the brown babe.

And that is where the alleged sumbie war turned deadly.

Police have now confirmed that the male suspect has been positively identified, but he reportedly fled the scene following the confrontation and remains the subject of a manhunt.

‘Ndibaasa’ in the cooler

Ndibaasa was arrested after police began piecing together the circumstances surrounding Matovu’s death.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala, preliminary investigations indicate that the incident may have followed a physical altercation.

But police are yet to establish exactly what happened between Matovu, Ndibaasa and the alleged former lover in those crucial moments.

“The female suspect remains in police custody and is assisting detectives with the ongoing investigations,” Kawala said.

The arrest has added a new chapter to the sensational circumstances surrounding the death of the Afrigo icon, who was rushed to Kibuli Hospital by a boda boda rider after sustaining serious injuries.

He later succumbed to his injuries.

While Ndibaasa is now in the hands of detectives, the killer at the centre of the sumbie war has disappeared in the nearest tall grass.

Police say the male suspect has been positively identified and is believed to have fled the scene.

Detectives are now combing every darkest hole, hunting for him to bring him in for questioning and establish his role in the deadly sumbie war.

The development comes after initial reports pointed to a possible lover’s quarrel involving Matovu and the woman.

However, police are now carefully retracing the events of that morning, with Kawala warning that the various accounts surrounding the incident are still being verified.

From bonknest to bloodbath?

The early-morning drama has fuelled a sensational theory of a love triangle gone horribly wrong.

According to preliminary accounts, Matovu had reportedly spent time at Ndibaasa’s bonk nest before the two emerged and encountered the man said to have previously been bonking her tubeless.

What followed is believed to have been a physical confrontation.

But whether the encounter was a planned ambush, a spontaneous waya war, or something else entirely remains a question for investigators.

Police have not confirmed several of the more dramatic claims circulating around the incident, including allegations that the suspect waited near Matovu’s vehicle before launching the attack.

For now, detectives are working to separate fact from hearsay.

What is not in dispute is that Matovu sustained severe injuries during the incident.

The veteran musician was rushed to Kibuli Hospital by a boda boda rider after he was found seriously injured.

Despite efforts to save him, the Afrigo legend later died.

His death has sent shockwaves through Uganda’s entertainment industry and beyond.

Matovu was a founding figure and longtime leader of Afrigo Band, one of Uganda’s longest-running musical institutions. He helped build the band from its formation in the 1970s and remained central to its music and survival for decades.
