PM Nabbanja Joins Locals to Update NRM Register in Humble Display

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has once again demonstrated her humility by joining a long queue to update her details in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) register. The Prime Minister, who also serves as the Woman MP for Kakumiro District, was seen alongside locals in Kinena village, Kakumiro Town Council, as the ruling party works to finalize its register ahead of the NRM primaries.

In a departure from the usual practice of high-ranking officials being seen as distant from the public, Nabbanja stood in line with residents, prioritizing elderly people and breastfeeding mothers, allowing them to be served first. Her down-to-earth gesture was met with appreciation from the local community, who pledged their ongoing support for both her and President Yoweri Museveni.

Addressing the crowd, Nabbanja highlighted the importance of citizens ensuring their details are accurate in the voter register as Uganda prepares for both the NRM and national elections. “I thank the local leaders and all residents who have taken time to verify their information before the update period closes. Democracy thrives on the active participation of all citizens, and I encourage everyone to continue engaging in this process,” she said.

Other senior NRM officials, including Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, Secretary-General Richard Todwong, and Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa Sentamu, also updated their details at their respective polling stations in their villages.
