“Someone In Security Is Planning to Overthrow Museveni”—Nadduli Drops Bombshell

Luwero war veteran and Presidential Advisor on Buganda Affairs, Al Hajji Abdul Nadduli, has issued a stern warning about what he believes is a growing and dangerous plot within Uganda’s security circles.

According to Nadduli, certain individuals embedded in the security forces are deliberately attempting to tarnish President Yoweri Museveni’s public image and ultimately weaken the NRM government from within.

While addressing journalists, the outspoken veteran urged the President to urgently launch a thorough investigation into what he described as “mafias” operating inside the Uganda Police, the UPDF and other security agencies. Nadduli claimed these groups are orchestrating actions that portray the government as increasingly oppressive and hostile to its own citizens, thereby eroding public trust.

To support his concerns, Nadduli cited a series of troubling incidents in districts such as Gulu, Mukono and Jinja—events in which opposition supporters have reportedly been injured, arrested or, in some cases, lost their lives. He argued that these violent confrontations are fueling anger among the public and could be unfolding without the President’s awareness.

“Such things never happened during Obote’s regimes. Even Museveni campaigned freely,” Nadduli said, contrasting the current atmosphere with earlier political eras. He went on to warn that, “Look at what is happening now. Someone is secretly planning to overthrow Museveni. They want Ugandans to get fed up with him.”

Nadduli insisted that the President must not dismiss these developments as isolated mistakes or routine enforcement mishaps. Instead, he urged Museveni to scrutinize the motives behind these actions, arguing that they may be part of a larger, more coordinated scheme to destabilize the government from the inside out.

According to the veteran leader, failing to act swiftly could allow these alleged internal saboteurs to continue manipulating events in ways that undermine both the President’s legacy and the stability of the country.
