Shocking!! Museveni Survives Assassination In Manafwa – Secrets Leak
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday delivered an emotional recollection of how he narrowly escaped death in 1973 during the brutal reign of the late dictator Idi Amin Dada.
The President shared the story while addressing thousands of enthusiastic supporters in Manafwa District, revealing how divine intervention spared his life in one of the darkest chapters of Uganda’s history.
The gripping account came as Mr. Museveni reflected on his lifelong journey of struggle and survival, linking his personal story to the broader narrative of Uganda’s resilience and transformation under the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
“First, I thank God for saving me and others in 1973 when Amin’s soldiers surrounded us in Mwambe’s house. Two of my colleagues were killed that day. I survived by His grace,” Museveni told the cheering crowd, his tone filled with gratitude and emotion.

According to the President, the ambush by Amin’s soldiers was one of the closest brushes with death he had ever experienced during the liberation struggle. That narrow escape, he said, strengthened his conviction to fight for peace and justice—a mission he believes the NRM has fulfilled over the last four decades.
The rally, held on November 6, 2025, was part of Museveni’s ongoing campaign tour across the eastern region. He was in Manafwa to present the NRM Manifesto for the 2026–2031 term, a comprehensive plan that, he said, builds upon the movement’s long-standing pillars of peace, development, and wealth creation.
Mr. Museveni emphasized that peace remains the most significant of the NRM’s achievements, underscoring how Uganda’s stability was founded on the principle of inclusivity and respect for every citizen, regardless of tribe, religion, or gender.
“Peace was not easy to achieve, but we built it by valuing every Ugandan. Under the NRM, Uganda now enjoys peace, good roads, electricity, clean water, and schools,” he added, drawing applause from the audience that had gathered under the scorching midday sun.

The President went on to highlight tangible developments in Manafwa District, noting that 96 percent of the villages now have access to safe and clean water—an impressive feat that has improved public health and livelihoods.
He also spoke about ongoing government efforts to upgrade health centres and schools to ensure that essential services reach even the most remote communities.
Turning his attention to economic empowerment, Museveni reiterated his government’s commitment to wealth creation and job opportunities, particularly through the now-famous four-acre model. This initiative, he explained, offers a clear blueprint for rural households to achieve self-sufficiency and financial independence by diversifying agricultural production.
“Wealth creation and jobs remain our focus through programmes like the four-acre model. We must continue building prosperity for all Ugandans,” the President stressed, urging the people of Manafwa to embrace hard work and innovation as drivers of transformation.
Museveni’s rally in Manafwa was yet another energetic stop on his campaign trail, where he has been reinforcing his message of continuity, stability, and progress under the NRM government. The event featured music, dance, and chants of support as locals turned out in large numbers to welcome the long-serving leader.
Later in the day, the President is expected to address another rally at Nabbonga Grounds in Bulambuli District as he continues to spread the NRM message of safeguarding the nation’s gains and steering Uganda toward a future of shared prosperity. The rally series is part of his campaign to seek re-election for a seventh term in office, with a promise to deepen the country’s journey of peace, unity, and socio-economic transformation.
