SAD!! Gen Moses Ali Dead – Here’s What Killed Him

Former First Deputy Prime Minister and veteran Ugandan statesman Gen Moses Ali has died at Nakasero Hospital, according to a statement from Captain Mike Mukula.

The family said he passed away on Friday at 4:25 p.m.

Mukula described Moses Ali as a “distinguished patriot, freedom fighter, and statesman” who devoted his life to Uganda’s peace, national unity, stability and reconstruction.

“Uganda has lost one of her finest sons,” he said, extending condolences to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the government and people of Uganda, the family of Gen Moses Ali, and residents of Adjumani, West Nile and the country at large.

According to information obtained by this publication, Gen. Moses Ali was initially admitted to the Mulago Heart Institute before being transferred to Nakasero Hospital after his condition reportedly deteriorated. The exact nature of his illness has not been publicly disclosed, and there has been no official confirmation regarding his diagnosis.

Sources close to the late veteran politician, who requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly, said he has been battling health challenges for some time. The sources added that his condition recently worsened, leading to his hospitalization and death.

Gen. Moses Ali is one of Uganda’s most experienced politicians and military figures, having served in several senior government positions over the decades. Throughout his political career, he has held key cabinet portfolios and played a prominent role in national affairs.

He previously served as Second Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of Government Business in Parliament before President Yoweri Museveni left him out of a subsequent Cabinet reshuffle. The decision was widely linked to concerns about his advancing age and health, although no official explanation specifically cited medical reasons.

Following his departure from Cabinet, the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) retained him in Parliament, where he currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Adjumani West. He is also recognized as the oldest serving legislator in the 11th Parliament at 87 years of age.

The NRM assigned the veteran politician to the Parliamentary Committee on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), allowing him to continue contributing to legislative work despite stepping away from executive responsibilities.

Meanwhile, President Museveni appointed Gen. Moses Ali’s son, Siraj Ali, as State Minister for Transport, a move that attracted significant public attention at the time.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.
