OMG!! Former Minister Miria Matembe Leaks Secrets On Muhoozi’s Basement, Alcohol And Women He Enjoys In Bars

Former Ethics and Integrity Minister Miria Matembe has delivered a forceful critique of Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, accusing him of displaying arrogance, relying on inherited privilege and making controversial public statements about political opponents and critics.

Speaking in an emotional address, Matembe expressed dissatisfaction with what she described as Muhoozi’s approach to public affairs, arguing that his conduct and online commentary have become a source of concern for many Ugandans.

A significant portion of her remarks focused on references Muhoozi has reportedly made to a “basement” in relation to detained individuals, language that has attracted widespread discussion in political circles.

“Basement. They say he is in the basement. Now, a basement… did Muhoozi build his own house in this country? I want to ask,” Matembe said, questioning the source of the military chief’s wealth and authority.

She argued that public officials are sustained by taxpayer resources and suggested that any assets or privileges associated with government office ultimately belong to the people who finance the state through taxes.

“All of Muhoozi’s money, if he has a house, that money is from… our taxes,” she said. “Even his CDF position, that is our money, our taxes.”

Matembe also challenged what she described as Muhoozi’s career trajectory, contending that he had not faced the same hardships encountered by many ordinary Ugandans seeking employment and advancement.

“When did he ever grow up, work hard, and do a job and struggle?” she asked. “He came straight onto a red carpet. He came on his father’s red carpet, entered, and got everything he has gotten.”

Returning to the subject of the “basement,” she questioned whether Muhoozi had personally earned or financed the property he references in his public statements.

“And then he starts saying, ‘I will take you to my basement.’ Whose basement did he build? Who built the basement for him?” she remarked.

Matembe further alleged that she had seen a social media post by Muhoozi concerning Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago in which he mocked the opposition figure while in detention.

“I saw him tweeting, as God is my witness, about Lukwago, ‘our former dignified mayor,’ telling him that he has now peed on himself three times in his basement,” she claimed.

Using a biblical analogy to explain the intensity of her reaction, Matembe compared her anger to the account of Jesus driving traders from the temple.

“God forgive me if I am speaking words of anger… but Jesus, remember when Jesus entered the temple and found them doing all sorts of dirty things. He overturned their tables,” she said. “I am furious now.”

The former minister also revisited previous exchanges with Muhoozi, alleging that he had referred to both her and Winnie Byanyima as “useless chicken.” She firmly rejected any notion that she should submit to him or treat him with unquestioning deference.

“He said I have to worship and bow to me. I don’t bow to anyone,” Matembe declared, adding that she would continue to speak her mind despite criticism.

She also alleged that Muhoozi had threatened to target members of the legal fraternity and opposition groups after they criticised government actions, saying she had seen statements in which he warned, “I’m coming to get those ones.”

Ending her remarks with an appeal rooted in faith, Matembe said, “God of heaven! I ask you one thing, arrest that man. God, you can.”

Her latest comments underscore the increasingly sharp exchanges between the veteran politician and the army chief, whose social media activity has repeatedly generated political controversy and public debate. Supporters of Muhoozi have often defended his outspoken style, while critics argue that some of his remarks raise concerns about the tone of political discourse and the exercise of public authority.
