Iron Lady Bitaano determined to send Zaake to political retirement

The name Nalubega Fausta Bitaano has been synonymous with the race for Mityana district woman MP till the recent weeks when the National Unity Platform party under unclear circumstances zeroed on TikToker Proscovia Nabbosa Mukisa. From the onset, Mityana residents believed Nalubega Fausta was the right choice to unseat prodigal incumbent Joyce Bagala Ntwatwa who currently hobnobs with Mathias Mpuuga and Anita Among.

However when she was denied the party ticket for NUP without a convincing justification, Bitaano opted out of the Kavule crew and chose to join Kasibante Robert’s National Peasants Party which has already nominated her to represent the pen symbol in the race for Mityana Municipality.

Bitaano, a child rights advocate and feminist is considered a formidable force that could end the Zaake dynasty in Mityana district at large. Bitaano stands out as a beacon of hope and resilience and a new dawn for Mityana municipality. She has already prominently utilized her charitable credentials and platform to champion communal support, education and economic empowerment.

Born and raised in the low scale Kampala city suburb of Makindye, Bitaano’s early life was not an easy one as she experienced financial struggles due to the extended family in which she grew. Despite all these obstacles, Bitaano pursued her education successfully and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Finance and Accounting at Makerere University Business School. While at MUBs Nakawa, Bitaano was a student leader who served in multiple positions. Her entry into national politics is not coincidental as she has a history of political belonging while at university and high school.

She dwelled on her expertise in leadership to contest for Makindye West Women Lord Councillor and she won with a massive landslide victory over several candidates that had tried to practice ballot stuffing. Bitaano has been instrumental in pushing for children’s rights and women and in fact a fair share of her charitable contributions are aimed at putting children in schools and skilling women. She has exceptionally and excellently served in this docket and indeed at KCCA her peers speak so well about her.

Journey to Mityana Municipality

Bitaano argues that this move is itself a significant protest against what she terms as unfairness and the opaqueness of the NUP EMC which did not highlight the exact justification for choosing a TikTok comedian over a grounded politician of her stature. Bitaano insists that she can extend her support to the people of Mityana by being a legislator who will echo their views in the twelfth parliament. She has chosen Mityana Municipality as a starting point to support her future endeavors for the people of Ssingo
