Kadaga Accuses Among Of Bribery And Voter Intimidation!! Among Gave Delegates iPads, Phones And Bought Prostitutes For Male Delegates

Former Speaker of Parliament and prominent political figure, Rebecca Kadaga, has voiced serious concerns over the integrity of the ruling National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) ongoing Central Executive Committee (CEC) elections.

Kadaga, who is contesting for the influential position of 2nd Vice Chairperson (Female) within the party, has alleged that the electoral process is being marred by systemic bribery, intimidation, and gross abuse of office.

Speaking passionately before delegates gathered at the NRM conference at Kololo Independence Grounds, Kadaga did not mince her words. She claimed to be in possession of credible information indicating that a number of delegates had been offered incentives—specifically iPads, mobile phones, and cash sums of Shs300,000—to sway their votes.

According to her, these incidents have taken place in several areas including Nabisunsa, Nakawa, Kisasi, and other unspecified locations.

Kadaga condemned these acts, asserting that such underhanded tactics are deliberately designed to manipulate the election outcome in favor of certain candidates.

She urged the delegates to stand firm against these practices and those perpetuating them, warning that the future of the party could be at stake if individuals without integrity are allowed to rise to leadership positions through corrupt means.

“The money being used is taxpayers’ money, and such leaders must be rejected, i hear even most male delegates were taken to some hotel in Busega to have fun with prostitutes ” she emphasised, drawing attention to the misuse of public resources for personal political gain.

She further appealed to both party leaders and grassroots members to uphold the values of transparency and fairness. Kadaga stressed that integrity must be the compass guiding the party’s electoral process, especially as the NRM positions itself for the future.

“We cannot allow corruption, bribery, and intimidation to define who leads us. Let the will of the people, not money, determine the outcome,” she urged.

Kadaga’s remarks come amid a heated race against Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, who is also vying for the same CEC position. The contest between these two high-profile women has drawn considerable attention both within and outside the party, as it symbolizes a broader power struggle over the direction and values of the NRM.

As the election process unfolds, Kadaga’s bold accusations have sparked debate and scrutiny over the integrity of internal party democracy. Whether her warning will prompt action or go unheeded remains to be seen—but her message is clear: the NRM must choose between the path of corruption or the path of integrity.
