EXPOSED!! NUP Official That Poisoned Ssegirinya Named
Kampala, Uganda – A storm of shock, betrayal, and heartbreak has swept across Uganda and the National Unity Platform (NUP) community following explosive revelations by the late Muhammad Ssegirinya’s personal assistant, Alex Luswa Luwemba.
In a deeply emotional TikTok live stream, Luwemba named an alleged traitor who he claims orchestrated the poisoning of the beloved opposition MP while he lay helpless in a hospital bed.
According to Luwemba, the person behind the chilling act is none other than Sauda Madaada, a known NUP foot soldier. In a twist that has stunned supporters and sparked outrage, Luwemba alleges that Madaada is not who she seems.
“She has been working for Gen Salim Saleh since 2012,” Luwemba claimed, his voice trembling with emotion. “She came to care for Ssegirinya in the hospital, but what she brought was not medicine – it was poison.”

The late Ssegirinya, affectionately called “Mr. Update,” was known for his passionate advocacy for the people of Kawempe North, his humor, and his fierce loyalty to the struggle for change in Uganda. His illness and prolonged hospital stay had already drawn public concern, but the sudden deterioration of his health shocked many.
Now, these new allegations suggest a darker reality behind the tragedy.
“She disguised the poison as herbal medicine,” Luwemba continued. “She sat by his bed and acted like a caregiver, while slowly killing him. He trusted her. We all did.”
The gravity of the claims has left many reeling. On social media, supporters of the late MP have expressed sorrow, anger, and confusion. How could someone so close, someone seen as part of the struggle, commit such a betrayal?

And if Luwemba’s claims are true, what does it say about the vulnerability of opposition leaders under a regime accused of silencing dissent by any means?
As of now, the National Unity Platform, led by party president Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), has not issued an official statement regarding Luwemba’s claims. But pressure is mounting for the party to respond.
Ssegirinya’s death had already left a gaping hole in the heart of Uganda’s opposition movement. His tireless efforts in Parliament and unwavering commitment to his constituents earned him admiration from all corners of the nation. That his life may have been cut short by foul play — and potentially by someone within the movement — only deepens the wound.
Luwemba’s emotional appeal ends with a plea for justice. “We need answers,” he said. “We cannot let Ssegirinya’s death be in vain. The people must know the truth.”
As Uganda waits for an official response, one thing is clear: the pain of losing Ssegirinya has been reignited — and if these allegations prove true, the opposition will have to reckon not only with external threats but betrayal from within
