NUP’s Eugenia Nassolo paints Lubaga South red as Bobi Wine launches umbrella campaign

Yesterday, the opposition National Unity Platform party Member of Parliament candidate for Lubaga South Hon. Eugenia Nassolo left tongues wagging and sent shockwaves down the spines of her skeptics after pulling thousands to her rally venue in Wankulukuku stadium.

Eugenia who donned a traditional white gomesi was seated on top of the official campaign vehicle of the NUP president H.E Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine. The duo waved down at their supporters who were undergoing immense torture by the security forces especially the Military Police and the SFC.

Prior to heading to Wankuluku, Eugenia accompanied her party President to Bulange, Mmengo for round table talks where the two parties called out the regime for its brutality during the presidential campaign trail.

During the talks at Bulange, Nassolo Eugenia also decried the brutish behavior of the military that was seen pouncing on suspected NUP supporters and people who brandished the national flag.

By midday, the NUP entourage exited Bulange and headed for Muteesa II stadium Wankuluku where they were received by thousands of enthusiastic cheering supporters who sang People Power slogans and lauded Nassolo for her exceptionality.

During her speech, Nassolo calmly appealed to the people of Lubaga to vote for Bobi Wine and NUP. She rallied them to look for the umbrella symbol on the ballot paper and tick for whomever bears it.

After the rally, Nassolo and Bobi drove through Kabuusu toward the second venue. They encountered multiple police blockades and tear gas in Nateete and Busega city outskirts as police battled NUP supporters.

As it stands, Nassolo leads the Lubaga South polls with 85% followed by the incumbent Aloysius Mukasa with 10% and Mugga Adam Swift with 3% while DF’s Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaaku trails with 0.5%
