THEY WILL PAY FOR THEIR LIES!! Former MUBS Principal Balunywa Fires Back After Getting Bail

Just days After securing bail, former Makerere University Business School (MUBS) principal Prof. Waswa Balunywa didn’t hold back—issuing a stern warning to his critics and vowing consequences for what he calls a campaign of falsehoods.

Taking to his official X account @JW_Balunywa shortly after his release, the outspoken academic posted a pointed message:

“When you destroy someone’s life with lies, take it as a loan, it will come back to you with interest.”

The sharp remark quickly ignited online debate, dividing opinion. While some applauded Balunywa’s defiance, others interpreted the post as a thinly veiled swipe at the legal process and ongoing investigations.

According to prosecutors, Balunywa is facing charges of abuse of office tied to his leadership at MUBS. The State alleges that between February and April 2023, he improperly appointed three administrative assistants who lacked the required academic qualifications. These controversial hires, prosecutors argue, caused unjustified financial burdens to the government—forming the crux of the corruption case.

Balunywa, a veteran educationist known for his bold opinions, has rejected the allegations outright. He maintains his innocence, claiming he is being targeted by a smear campaign. His fiery post suggests he’s not only preparing for a legal battle—but also a public one.

For now, the case moves forward. Balunywa remains out on bail, but his words make one thing clear: he’s not going down without a fight.
