Mbarara Businessman Reveals How Close Friends Swindled Him Out of Millions, Here Is How He Uncovered the Truth and Recovered His Money
My name is Richard, and I am a businessman from Mbarara in Western Uganda. For many years, I worked tirelessly to grow my business, save money and secure a better future for my family. I always believed that honesty and trust were essential in business, particularly when dealing with people I had known for years.
Sadly, I learned a painful lesson when some of the people I trusted most became involved in financial dealings that left me struggling to keep my business afloat.
It all began when two of my close friends approached me with separate business proposals. They knew I was doing reasonably well financially, and they persuaded me that partnering with them would help us expand our businesses and increase our earnings.
Because we had been friends for many years, I never imagined they would take advantage of me. I believed they genuinely wanted the best for me, so I agreed to invest money in the business arrangements we had discussed.
Initially, everything seemed to be going according to plan. They spoke confidently about the profits we expected to earn, and I believed the investments would create new opportunities for my business.

Eventually, I discovered that millions of shillings I had entrusted to them could not be properly accounted for. The discovery was devastating because the money represented years of hard work, careful planning and personal sacrifice.
I felt embarrassed to realise that people I had considered trusted friends had put my business in such a difficult position. I began questioning myself, wondering whether I had ignored important warning signs simply because I trusted them.
My business soon started facing serious financial difficulties. I had suppliers to pay, employees depending on their salaries and other responsibilities that could not be delayed. I spent many sleepless nights wondering how I would recover the money and prevent the situation from destroying everything I had worked so hard to build.
During this challenging period, I began examining my business transactions more carefully. I reviewed the available records, revisited our agreements and tried to establish exactly what had happened to the funds.
The more I investigated the matter, the more determined I became to discover where the money had gone. I realised I could no longer depend on promises without demanding clear explanations and accountability.
One day, while sharing my financial struggles with someone I knew, I.To read more, tap here
