I had looked forward to traveling with my family to the village, expecting last Christmas to be joyful. On Sunday, December 23, 2018, I informed my wife to get ready for the trip. She explained, however, that she needed to finalize work at the office the next day, December 24, before heading to the village that evening.

I felt it was unwise to delay my plans, so I left as scheduled. My wife begged me to take the children in my car, assuring me she would manage on a bus to the village.
