“Bebe Cool Isn’t Talented And He Is Jealous Of My Leadership Position” Eddy Kenzo Reveals
Ugandan music heavyweights Eddy Kenzo and Bebe Cool have once again made headlines — not for their music, but for a growing rift that has followed them along the campaign trail as they rally support for President Yoweri Museveni across the country.
While both stars have been instrumental in mobilizing the creative community behind the ruling party, reports suggest that their professional relationship has been strained by repeated clashes fueled by ego and competition.
Over the weekend, while addressing journalists in the Bugisu subregion, Eddy Kenzo — the Big Talent Entertainment boss — openly spoke about the tension between him and his long-time industry counterpart.
The Grammy-nominated artist revealed that their disagreements have little to do with politics and more to do with personal pride and a struggle for dominance within Uganda’s entertainment scene.

“Our misunderstandings stem from ego and jealousy,” Kenzo told reporters, making it clear that the friction goes beyond party activities.
According to him, Bebe Cool has struggled to come to terms with his leadership role in Uganda’s creative industry — a position that Kenzo currently holds as the president of musicians under the Uganda National Musicians Federation.
“Emotions have always got the better of him — ego. It’s the reason I always clash with Bebe Cool. He doesn’t want to accept that a young man like me can be their leader. I don’t let him do as he wishes because I work to satisfy many, not a few,” Kenzo said.
The Big Talent star’s remarks shed light on the growing divisions within Uganda’s music community, where senior artists and emerging leaders often wrestle for influence. Despite the tension, Kenzo maintained that he still holds Bebe Cool in high regard, emphasizing that leadership sometimes demands making tough decisions for the benefit of all musicians.
“I give him respect, but they don’t accept that. I respect them, but I have to do my job as a leader and decide for the good of all artistes,” he added.

Kenzo’s statements have sparked mixed reactions from fans and fellow musicians alike. Some applaud his honesty and assertiveness, viewing his leadership as a breath of fresh air for the industry. Others, however, believe that public confrontations between influential figures like Kenzo and Bebe Cool could damage the unity of Uganda’s creative sector at a time when collaboration and collective growth are crucial.
As the campaign season continues, observers are watching closely to see whether the two stars will reconcile their differences or let personal rivalries overshadow their shared political and artistic missions.
