Famous NRM Politician Burns UPDF Wife To Ashes After Finding Her Doing This

Police have launched an intensive manhunt for a man suspected of killing his wife in a suspected act of domestic violence that has shocked residents and raised fresh concerns about rising cases of intimate partner abuse.

Authorities identified the suspect as Mwesigwa Dickson Muganda, who is accused of brutally killing his wife, Babirye Christine, a serving soldier with the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF). According to preliminary police findings, the incident occurred after Muganda allegedly locked his wife inside their home and deliberately set it on fire.

Babirye, who worked as a nurse attached to a Bomb Disposal Unit, was reportedly alone in the house at the time of the attack. Police say the suspect is believed to have poured a flammable substance before igniting the blaze and fleeing the scene.

Witnesses described a chaotic and distressing scene as the fire quickly spread through the building. “We heard her screaming and calling for help,” one resident said, recounting the moments leading up to the tragedy. “People rushed over and tried to break down the door, but the fire was already too strong.”

Residents reported hearing cries for help and desperate calls for assistance. They tried to break down the door, but by the time they did, the fire had already spread, and Babirye could not escape. She tragically died in the inferno.

Emergency responders arrived shortly afterward, but efforts to save her were unsuccessful. Her death has left the local community shaken, with many expressing disbelief that such an act could occur in a residential setting.

According to police reports, Babirye, who worked as a nurse at a Bomb Disposal Unit, was married to Muganda. Witnesses say that Muganda locked Babirye in a room, poured fuel, and set it on fire before fleeing the scene.

Investigators have since launched a manhunt for Muganda, who remains at large. Police officials say efforts are underway to track his movements, and security agencies have been alerted to assist in his arrest.

“We are actively pursuing the suspect and following all available leads,” a police spokesperson said. “We urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist in locating him.”

Police have now begun searching for Muganda and have appealed to the public for any information that could help in his capture. If anyone has seen or heard anything, they are urged to contact the authorities immediately.

The killing has reignited public discussion around domestic violence, particularly involving security personnel and their families. Advocacy groups have long warned about the dangers of unresolved domestic disputes escalating into fatal incidents, calling for stronger intervention systems and community awareness.

As investigations continue, authorities have not yet disclosed a possible motive behind the attack. The victim’s body has been taken for postmortem examination as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Meanwhile, residents in the area remain on edge, with many calling for swift justice and increased protection for vulnerable individuals. The case underscores the devastating consequences of domestic conflict and the urgent need for preventive measures.

Police say they will provide further updates as the search for the suspect continues.
