HELP Uganda Joins the 2025 Cancer Run to Support Awareness and Treatment
HELP Uganda, an organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities, participated in the 2025 Rotary Cancer Run held at Kololo Independence Grounds and other major towns across the country. Now in its 14th edition, the annual event brings together thousands united in the fight against cancer under the theme “Many Cancers, One Race.”
The Executive Director of HELP Uganda, Hon. Joseph Mukasa Matovu, along with several members of the NGO, joined runners, survivors, and supporters in raising awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. Their involvement reflects the organization’s broader commitment to promoting health and well-being across Uganda.
This year’s Cancer Run seeks to fund the completion of two bunkers to house Linear Accelerator (LINAC) machines at the Rotary Cancer Centre, Nsambya Hospital, increasing access to advanced cancer treatment nationwide. HELP Uganda’s participation underscores its dedication to holistic community support, including health, education, vocational training, and empowerment for vulnerable populations.
“HELP Uganda is committed to transforming lives through knowledge, skills, and empowerment,” said Hon. Joseph Mukasa Matovu. “Participating in the Cancer Run allows us to stand alongside other Ugandans in the fight against cancer while continuing our mission to create lasting change in our communities.”
By joining the Cancer Run, HELP Uganda showed solidarity with cancer patients, survivors, and their families, emphasizing that combating disease is a shared responsibility. The NGO continues to combine health advocacy with programs in youth empowerment, vocational training, environmental protection, and refugee support, proving that hope and practical assistance can transform lives across Uganda.
