Joseph Mukasa’s Vision for Makindye-Sabagabo!! A New Chapter for the People

Makindye-Sabagabo is a community filled with energy and potential, but for too long, its people have faced the same challenges with no real change. Roads are in disrepair, traffic is a daily frustration, and flooding has become the norm. Young people are unemployed, health services are limited, and many children are learning in broken-down schools. Joseph Mukasa has stepped forward with a clear vision—to transform Makindye-Sabagabo by putting people at the center of leadership. As a 2026 parliamentary candidate under the National Unity Platform (NUP), his guiding principle is: People First – Service, Equity, and Transformation.

Joseph Mukasa is not running for personal power. He is offering himself as a servant-leader—someone who listens, engages, and takes action based on the real needs of the community. His dream is to see a Makindye-Sabagabo where every citizen lives with dignity, has access to essential services, and plays an active role in shaping the future.

Infrastructure That Supports Progress

Joseph understands the daily struggles caused by poor infrastructure. He will advocate for the construction and maintenance of quality roads, improved drainage systems to prevent floods, and better urban lighting for safety. He also supports proper planning to ensure clean, organized, and well-managed neighborhoods and markets.

Empowering the Youth and Women

A major part of Joseph’s vision is creating jobs and opportunities. He will champion vocational training, youth entrepreneurship, and access to startup capital. Through collaboration with NGOs and private sector partners, he aims to empower young people and women—because empowering families is key to reducing poverty and driving community growth.

Healthcare That Works for All

Joseph has seen the pain of families who can’t access basic healthcare. He plans to improve services by pushing for more medical staff, well-equipped health centers, and ambulance coverage in underserved areas. He will also promote health education focused on maternal health, mental well-being, and public hygiene.

Education as a Pathway to Opportunity

Joseph believes education is the foundation for long-term transformation. He will work to restore and upgrade public schools, provide learning materials, and ensure teachers are supported and paid on time. He also plans to expand access to scholarships and bursaries for students from vulnerable families.

Justice, Security, and Community Peace

Joseph is ready to confront insecurity, drug abuse, and land grabbing. He will work with community leaders and the police to make neighborhoods safer. He also supports the creation of legal aid clinics and community-based conflict resolution programs to ensure justice is accessible to all.

Environmental Protection and Climate Action

A clean and healthy environment is central to Joseph’s plan. He will promote tree planting, protect water sources, and introduce recycling initiatives. In addition, he will support farmers through climate-smart agriculture, helping them adapt to the effects of climate change.

Transparent and Accountable Leadership

Joseph Mukasa stands for honest, open, and responsive governance. He will fight corruption, ensure that public funds are used properly, and hold town hall meetings every quarter to report to the people. He also plans to open a constituency office where residents can receive legal support, guidance, and direct help.

If elected, Joseph promises to be a leader who is present, reliable, and dedicated to representing all residents—regardless of background, religion, or political views. He believes leadership is about serving others and standing up for what’s right, not personal benefit.

The time for change is now. Makindye-Sabagabo deserves more than empty promises. It needs bold leadership, fresh ideas, and a real commitment to the people.
