Ssegirinya Was My Good Friend And He Didn’t Tell Me About Mpuuga Being Behind His Arrest!! Munyagwa Mocks Bobi Wine
During a discussion on Sanyuka TV’s morning programme, former Kawempe South Member of Parliament Hon. Mubarak Munyagwa gave his views on the legal action filed by Nyendo–Mukungwe MP Mathias Mpuuga against National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi and Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana.
Munyagwa described the case as “shocking and regrettable.” He said he was concerned that disagreements within the opposition were now getting more attention than efforts to question the actions of the government.
He said politics requires good timing and a clear understanding of who the main opponents are.
“Right now, it seems we’ve removed Museveni from the equation and made Mpuuga the main target,” Munyagwa said. “That shift is both dangerous and unfortunate.”
He added that the idea of spying, especially in Uganda’s political environment, is not always easy to define.
“You can either knowingly work with the regime or unknowingly behave in ways that benefit it,” he said. He noted that even actions without bad intentions can still support those in power.
Munyagwa also spoke about the late Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya. He said Ssegirinya never told him that Mpuuga had anything to do with his arrest or imprisonment.
“Ssegirinya was my friend,” he said. “If Mpuuga had a hand in his troubles, he would have told me. But he didn’t. Not even once.”
Munyagwa said the current focus on Mpuuga seems to be a planned move.
“It’s not just politics, it looks like a planned strategy. NUP have simply replaced Museveni with Mpuuga as their main problem,” he said.
