Anita Among Gets Unconscious, Security Reportedly Denies Her Helpers To Rush Her To Hospital
Fresh claims have emerged regarding the health of former Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among, with reports circulating from political sources alleging that she became unconscious on Tuesday night, although no official confirmation has yet been issued by her family, doctors or government officials.
The latest claims come amid ongoing speculation about the former Speaker’s health and at a time when she has remained largely out of the public eye for several months.
Sources close to the developments, speaking on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, alleged on Wednesday that Among’s condition had deteriorated and that she reportedly lost consciousness on Tuesday night.
However, by press time, no official medical statement had been released to confirm the reports, and efforts to independently verify the claims had not been successful.
Former Kampala Central Member of Parliament, Muhammad Nsereko, who has in recent days spoken publicly about Among’s health, had earlier claimed during a TikTok broadcast that the former Speaker was battling serious medical complications.

“Rt Hon Anita Annet Among is very sickly. She has a blood clot in her legs, she cannot walk,” Nsereko claimed.
He further alleged that Among’s legs were swollen and questioned why she had allegedly not been allowed access to specialized treatment.
Neither Among nor her known representatives have publicly responded to the claims. No medical records have been released to substantiate the allegations.
The absence of an official position has continued to fuel speculation, with supporters and critics offering differing interpretations of the unfolding situation.
For months, the former Speaker, Anita Annet Among, has maintained a low public profile, a development that has generated considerable discussion in political circles.
The renewed debate comes against the backdrop of ongoing investigations reportedly linked to her tenure in public office. Multiple political sources have indicated that investigators are believed to be concluding their inquiries and consulting with prosecutors regarding the next course of action.
While no formal charges have been announced, speculation has persisted over whether prosecutorial decisions could be made in the coming weeks.
Some political observers have questioned whether the timing of the latest health claims could influence public perceptions as investigations progress. Others have cautioned against drawing conclusions in the absence of verified medical information.

There have also been reports from sources familiar with the matter suggesting that discussions have taken place among some of Among’s supporters regarding the possibility of seeking specialized medical treatment abroad should doctors recommend it.
These reports, however, remain unconfirmed.
Political analysts say that regardless of the circumstances, any individual under investigation remains entitled to constitutional protections, including the presumption of innocence and access to appropriate medical care.
The developments have sharply divided public opinion. Some Ugandans have called for the expedited conclusion of ongoing investigations, while others insist that health concerns, if confirmed, should be handled with compassion and without political considerations.
As speculation continues, attention is now likely to focus on whether Among’s family, medical team or relevant authorities will issue an official statement clarifying her condition.
Until such confirmation is provided, reports regarding her alleged loss of consciousness remain unverified.
