Majority NUP MPs back Kaluya for Commissioner, polls show

A current opinion poll has put the Kigulu South Member of Parliament Hon. Andrew Kiiza Kaluya in a very comfortable lead of 45% followed by the Busunju County MP David Lukyamuzi Kalwanga with 30%, Mityana Municipality MP Zaake Francis with 15% and the Manjiya County MP John Baptist Nambeshe trails with 10%.

MPs who spoke to this publication on condition of anonymity in fear of reprisals from their bosses at Kavule, attribute their support for Kaluya Andrew to his resolve, performance and ability to secure 8 slots for the party in Busoga region, in his capacity as the Secretary for Mobilization for Eastern Uganda.

It should be noted that the NUP Deputy President for Eastern John Baptist Nambeshe could not secure for the party even a mere councillor from Bugisu region, while Mityana Municipality MP Zaake also failed to secure the Mityana woman MP victory that fell in the hands of the NRM, and majority seats in greater Mityana all ended up in the hands of NRM.
