The National Unity Platform party candidate for the Wakiso District LCV 2026 polls, Najja Nasiif has filed a petition challenging the results that declared NRM’s Eng. Ian Kyeyune as the victor.
In the petition delivered this afternoon at Alaka & Co. Advocates in Kololo, Najja clarified that he would not fold his hands while the mandate of the people of Wakiso District is usurped and undermined by the returning officer Tolbert Musinguzi in connivance with Eng. Ian Kyeyune of the NRM party.
Amongst the grounds contained in the petition, Najja questions the nomination of Eng. Ian Kyeyune as an NRM candidate despite lacking the endorsement and official backing of the NRM Secretary General who never signed him off as their candidate as per the documents seen by this reporter, the inconsistent academic documents of Eng. Ian Kyeyune which render him ineligible for the position, and the absence of the official authentic Declaration Forms to validate his acclaimed victory.
We understand that Eng. Ian Kyeyune was serviced with the petition notice and he has a fortnight to file his Defence in accordance with the constitution.
