St. Mary’s College Mayenze Welcomes President and NRM Flagbearer in Bugisu Sub-Region

St. Mary’s College Mayenze warmly welcomed His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Uganda and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate, to the Bugisu Sub-Region, with special acknowledgment to the Manafwa District Local Government, during his ongoing campaign tour.

The school community — including the Board of Governors, Board of Directors, Parents and Teachers Association, Prefects, and students — extended a heartfelt message of gratitude to the President and the NRM government for their visionary leadership and transformative policies that continue to uplift the nation.

Benefiting from the Universal Secondary Education (USE) program, St. Mary’s College Mayenze noted that government policies have enabled the development of modern infrastructure, elevating the school to a level comparable to university standards in terms of facilities and learning environment.

The institution also highlighted the impact of NRM-led economic empowerment programs, including the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, Youth Livelihood Fund, and Grow for Women Entrepreneurship. These initiatives have enhanced household incomes, promoted self-reliance, and improved livelihoods across the country.

Furthermore, the school applauded the government’s investments in infrastructure, including roads, bridges, electricity extensions, and industrial parks, which have boosted regional development and created employment opportunities. The establishment of skilling hubs has further equipped young Ugandans with practical skills, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

St. Mary’s College Mayenze also commended initiatives such as Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), Universal Primary Education (UPE), and salary improvements for public servants, noting their positive effects on education, productivity, and general welfare nationwide.

While the President’s visit will not include special events or entertainment due to his tight campaign schedule, the school community expressed strong support and solidarity, emphasizing its commitment to peace, stability, and continued socio-economic transformation under the NRM government.

The President is scheduled to visit Bulambuli and Manafwa on 6th November 2025, Bududa and Namisindwa on 8th November, and Mbale District and City on 10th November as part of his campaign tour.

St. Mary’s College Mayenze reaffirmed its loyalty to the President and the NRM, urging the people of the Bugisu Sub-Region to unite behind the leadership that has consistently brought development, stability, and prosperity to Uganda.
