King Saha performs at Lawyer Muyizzi Nyendo Mukungwe MP bid launch

Revolutionary music icon Mansul Ssemanda popularly known as King Saha was yesterday the major celebrant as maverick lawyer Sam Muyizzi Mulindwa was launching his bid for Nyendo Mukungwe seat currently occupied by Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba.

The formidable lawyer who is seeking the National Unity Platform party endorsement yesterday made headlines in the local Masaka media houses after attracting thousands of supporters who all graced his launch and hailed him as a loyal cadre of the struggle.

“Muyizzi is a home groomed leader and we are very certain that he will take our struggle to the epitome,” remarked one Nyendo Mukungwe local. “We are going to support him and we are asking the NUP Election Management Committee to consider Sam Muyizzi as our MP for Nyendo Mukungwe,” retorted another.

The launch which was at La Roza country resort first faced hostile reception from the security forces which planned to block it with the connivance of other antagonists opposed to Muyizzi’s MP bid.

But the arrival of King Saha, the ‘Akamwanyi kaliwo’ hitmaker motivated the masses to embrace the rally. Masaka, Buddu is a traditional grower of coffee and majority households rely on this cash crop to sustain their families. So the coming of King Saha was strategic and of great significance to Sam Muyizzi who intended to send a strong message to the coffee growing community in his electoral jurisdiction.

In his remarks, lawyer Muyizzi gave a chronology of his experience in the revolutionary struggle and why he identifies himself by the moniker ‘Looya wa struggle’. He highlighted his legal background and battles within the NUP as he struggles to reclaim the freedom of the party’s young Turks and the jailed political prisoners.

At the launch, thousands who attended commended Muyizzi as an impactful leader whose work and experience have a great impact and value on the people of not just Nyendo Mukungwe but Masaka at large. Muyizzi’s exposure and 19 year experience in the legal spheres propels him as a better contender and replacement for the incumbent Mathias Mpuuga
