A 37-year-old businesswoman in Nairobi left her social media friends in shock after revealing how she helped her husband pay her dowry, only for him to later abandon her. She shared that she met her husband while still running her businesses, but at the time, he had very little. They fell in love and decided to marry, but her parents insisted that he pay the dowry first as a guarantee of their marriage.

She explained that she helped her husband, who had a low-income job, raise three-quarters of the dowry her family required. They then entered married life. Initially, her husband appeared loving and caring. However, a year later, she became pregnant and was shocked to learn that he was drifting away from their marriage, having been involved with two different women on separate occasions.
