EXCLUSIVE: Why Eugenia stands out as the best MP NUP can make in Lubaga South

A mother, Makerere University Community psychology graduate and a celebrated politician, Nassolo Eugenia is aiming at legislating for the people of Lubaga South under the opposition NUP ticket. For the NUP flag Nassolo is facing off with the incumbent Aloysius Mukasa Talton Gold whose tenure has not been impactful to the electorate, and Dr. Mugga Adam Swift a youthful politician funded by Gen. Salim Saleh.

She is a born and raised child of Lubaga and has had all her childhood and adult life within this jurisdiction implying she vividly understands the plight of the people she intends to legilslate for.

Nassolo, a Catholic businesswoman and Rotarian stands out as the most formidable figure to take on the legislative duty for Lubaga South.

She is a key leader in Lubaga Catholic Parish which also doubles as the headquarters of Kampala Catholic Archdiocese and the Democratic Party (DP) is counting on her solid profile as one that makes her an easy brand to sell to the electors in the 8 parishes making the constituency.

The Buganda princess owns multiple commercial buildings in Ndeeba and in other Kampala city suburbs and has employed dozens of youths in her plastic recycling business situated within Ndeeba area, a low income suburb.

With such a business enthusiast, Lubaga South youths are destined for greatness as Eugenia will use her skills to lobby for the area and pull more investors to employ the skilled youths.

An eminent Rotarian, Nassolo also has another community project which targets girls who are between S6 and campus for practical skilling.

She has a training center in Natete-Busega where such young girls, given to her by their poor mothers, are sent for training in the craft shoes-making business.

Her plastics and polythene-processing business employs hundreds of youths both in Nalukolongo and Kikuubo where she has her wholesale shops.

For the garages, her training program has economically transformed many young people who have subsequently referred their younger siblings to enroll for the same and gratefully, Nassolo started early (2017). This has enabled her to create a reservoir and strong network of good will ambassadors in all the parishes on which the DP leadership is leveraging to make a serious attempt of winning over the constituency.

In our perspective, we believe NUP needs to tap into this expertise and grant Nassolo Eugenia the Lubaga South ticket.
