BREAKING!! UPDF Medical Personels Cry Out To Gen Muhoozi & Museveni After Ministry Of Defense Allegedly Fails To Pay Their Salary Increment

Medical officers serving in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) have raised serious concerns about low pay and the continued failure to implement promised salary increments. Despite working under challenging conditions, these officers claim they have been overlooked, while their counterparts in civilian sectors, police, prisons, and local government have already received their increments.

The medics say they have repeatedly followed government procedures, including reporting the delays to the Anti-Corruption Unit at State House, but their complaints have largely been ignored. Some even allege intimidation, claiming they are threatened with arrest if identified as whistleblowers. They argue that their commitment and sacrifices in combat roles make them equally deserving of pay adjustments.

According to the UPDF medical officers, the Ministry of Health released funds to the Ministry of Defense to pay the increments, but the implementation has failed. They have also raised concerns about the delay in issuing practicing licenses, which are required for their professional work, with promises being repeatedly postponed over the years. Some officers highlight that previous interventions under officials such as Edith Nakalema were effective, but recent efforts have yielded no results.

The medics stress that the government has approved salary increases in previous budgets, including 2018-2019 and 2021-2022, yet the UPDF medical staff have not benefited. They now appeal directly to President Museveni and the Ministry of Defense to ensure fairness, payment of arrears, and recognition of their equal status among medical professionals in the country. Their call underscores the urgent need for equity, transparency, and respect for the contributions of frontline military health workers.
