Ssemujju Secures Ugx 300m From Speaker Among To Secure 4th Term Kiira Bid, Says He Can’t Return To Media At His Old Age Like Samson Kasumba

In a twist of events as National Unity Platform (NUP) is set to front its renown human rights lawyer George Musisi in Kiira Municipality, incumbent Ibrahim Ssemujju has cried out to the speaker of Parliament Anita Among to help him with some campaign funds.

Ssemujju Nganda who has been in the clique of the state imposed opposition planted with funding from Gen. Salim Saleh is in panic mode after noting that NUP is unlikely to replicate the 2021 political mistake of fronting a joker in Jimmy Lukwago aka Kiira Young.”

I don’t know who advised these Kavule boys to bring a serious candidate against me. I had used part of my savings to buy a ranch in Kyazanga where I was to enjoy my retirement from politics in 2031,” Ssemujju told a gathering of faciliated Boda riders whom he met in Kasokoso on Saturday night.

“I don’t know any other job other than Parliament where I’m having a friendly speaker granting me travel opportunities. At my age, I cannot be like Samson Kasumba of NBS. I can’t return to the newsroom,” ranted the former journalist, Ssemujju.

Meanwhile as it stands, the people of Kiira Municipality are prepared to send the good performing lawmaker to political retirement on grounds that he has failed to lead by example to step aside from the 4th term and be a Nelson Mandela of the sorts who left after just one term after service.

Some Kiira locals also opine that Ssemujju has faced a political hiccup ever since NUP Lawyer Musisi declared his bid to succeed the veteran journalist. The demeaning of Bobi Wine, who is a resident within Kyadondo and Kiira is also another factor letting down Ssemujju in 2026.

In most of his political meetings, Ssemujju is overheard spending most of his time dissing Bobi Wine having luckily defeated the NUP candidate in the 2021 polls notwithstanding the fact that the party had just planted some candidates like Kiira young to fill space.

However, the rise of Musisi, analysts say was a worthy move by NUP to show that the party has now developed democratically to the point of choosing the right candidates like Nalukoola in Kawempe North apparently, and now George Musisi for Kiira.
