Uganda’s Electoral Farce: UDSA Blows Whistle on Systemic Fraud and Manipulation

Kampala, Uganda – Henry Obongo, Supreme leader of the Uganda Defense Salvation Army (UDSA), has leveled serious accusations against President Yoweri Museveni’s government, alleging deliberate frustration of the electoral process to maintain power.

Obongo asserts that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government has ensured that elections, particularly presidential ones, are never truly free and fair. This manipulation, he claims, aims to guarantee President Museveni and his family’s continued hold on state power.

Obongo cites several statements made by President Museveni over the years, which he believes reveal a disregard for democratic principles and a willingness to use force to remain in power.

These quotes include:”I don’t vote because I have the army and money” (2011)

“I will smash anyone trying to joke around with my throne” (2016)

“Those saying ‘agenda (I should go)’ want to come and steal my oil” (2015)

Obongo’s allegations come amidst growing concerns about the integrity of Uganda’s electoral process.

Many opposition parties and civil society organizations have accused the NRM government of manipulating elections and using state resources to intimidate opponents. The Uganda Electoral Commission has faced criticism for its handling of previous elections, with some accusing it of bias towards the ruling party.

As Uganda prepares for the 2026 presidential elections, Obongo’s allegations have raised concerns about the prospects for free and fair elections. The UDSA leader has called on the international community to scrutinize Uganda’s electoral process and hold the government accountable for any attempts to manipulate or frustrate the will of the people.

The NRM government has yet to respond to Obongo’s allegations, but the controversy is likely to continue in the coming weeks and months.
